Our
Broodmares:
We currently have two
broodmares
in our breeding program:
Estevan,
a branded Hanoverian mare by Escudo
I and Aviary, a Canadian Warmblood (CWB) registered
and approved mare by
Arkansas.
Aviary
Aviary
is a 16.0h large-framed grey Canadian Warmblood mare, born in 1990
and acquired in foal by Hidden
Orchard Farm
in September 2001 from Krammer Warmbloods in Alberta. Avi was
bred by Touchstone Farm and is by the
Hanoverian stallion, Arkansas, imported to Canada and former member
of the Hanoverian State Stud “Prussian” Quadrille. Arkansas was
approved by the Hannoverscher Warmblutzuchter e.V. and the Canadian
Warmblood Horse Breeders Association (CWHBA). He produced top
performance horses in Germany, including Escudo II, and in Canada in
both jumping and dressage. He is known for passing on his elegant
top line, which Aviary has inherited.
Aviary
is out of an Abrupt mare, Amsel and is three-quarter
Hanoverian. Both
Arkansas
and Abrupt are well known for siring quality horses that are
athletic, sensible and very rideable. Avi has a super
temperament, is laid-back, very easy to handle and to breed.
Unfortunately, in 2008, although we bred Avi to
Londonderry,
our breeding was not successful.
