Congratulations to Kelly of Oregon on
her purchase of Rebel!
Born July 9th at approximately 7:50 pm, this
handsome colt by Romantic Star X Aviary is a star in the
making. At just 48 hours old, he took his first jump over a
small 6 inch high roundbale core and, then, just to not
prove it was a mistake, he turned around and cantered over
it again, going at it from the opposite direction. He then
stopped and looked at 3 of us who were watching at the fence
to make sure we all saw it. I was happy to have 2 witnesses
to Rebel’s first jump! And best of all, he has
Romantic Star’s beautiful tight knees when jumping.
is a very handsome foal, with gorgeous face, long legs and
very balanced movement. He also has a very attention-getting
personality. From the time he was only a couple of days old,
he would canter over to the fence when called, just to get
petted. He loves being brushed and he is very smart.
He has had a halter on from day 1 and has been led every
day, gets his feet picked up regularly and at 2 weeks of
age, he had his first experience with a farrier. This
colt will be a superstar in the ring, with his talent, his
gorgeous looks and his look-at-me disposition. We are
absolutely thrilled with Rebel and have planned his first
line show for August 26th.
Romantic Star is a 17 hand,
imported Elite Class I Hanoverian Stallion. He is dark
brown, with a star, snip and 2 hind socks.
Star comes from a long line of champions. His
sire, Ramiro's Son II, a License Class I Holsteiner by Ramiro had
many wins at Grand Prix in the Jumping world with his rider Soren
Von Ronne. Romantic Star's dam is Pirola by Pinkus, a License Class
I Hanoverian by Pandur.
Romantic Star passed his 100
day testing in Germany in Prussendorf in 1998, where he came
in 6th place overall with the following scores:
Dressage: 117.89, Jumping: 120.98, for a total: 120.47
Romantic Star received a 10
for his character, 9's for temperament, willingness, and 8's
for constitution, walk, canter, and rideability. His
jumping technique and talent earned him a rare nomination to
the Hanoverian Jumper Breeding Program, to which only the
most elite stallions are mares are invited after
accomplishing stringent requirements.
